Water conservation is important here in #CentralOregon. By piping the two main canals, COID’s district would conserve 82,752 acre-feet of water. This significant amount of water! It’s equal to an increased flow of 276 cfs in the Upper Deschutes River during the winter months. Big news! Tumalo, Swalley, and Central Oregon Irrigation districts will be applying for a portion of recently appropriated funding for water conservation projects in the region. These projects will improve efficient use of water within the districts while allowing the districts to dedicate conserved water instream. It’s important for the community to voice their support of this process before the cutoff TODAY!
