Purdue Industrial and Physical Pharmacy
The Department of Industrial Physical Pharmacy (IPPH) is involved in teaching and research in pharmaceutics, with emphasis on the following three minors: industrial pharmacy, pharmacokinetics/biopharmaceutics, and physical pharmacy.
- Dr. Tony Zhouhas received a NIAID R01 award. Titled Combating Deadly Gram-negative Lung Infections: An Inhalation and Systems Approach, the project will develop novel inhaled antibiotic formulations for treatment of multi-drug resistant lung infections using particle engineering techniques, investigate drug delivery by cutting-edge imaging, and optimize dosage regimens and make the outcomes translational by mechanism-based pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics. Led by Prof. Zhou, it involves collaborations from Monash University of Australia and University of North Carolina.
